Well Matured

My mum was 18 (again!) yesterday

Knowing how she didn’t want anyone to know she was 80 last year (her friends all thought she was much younger and she didn’t want to disillusion them) we reversed the candles on the cake and there you have it – childish glee … but the camera angle kind of gives the secret away doesn’t it?
Well Matured

Early Christmas with Friends

Supper group turns
Festive.
We chat and laugh
And listen and care…
But most of all
Enjoy to share
Company of friends
forged across chilly
corridors and testing times.
We celebrate our
Alternative Christmas do
Just us few
Around the
Roundish table.

Flash Ahhhhahhhh

2.8.13
Summer is not evident from inside the Indian restaurant. Giant hail, lightning storm and flash floods leave the high street outside like a river and various emergency vehicles crawling by with blue lights flashing.

Lunch at The Reef

I savour the
flavoursome mushrooms
sitting on their
crisp bed of toasted
ciabatta with
its counterpane of
cream-laced silken
stilton. A slightly
predictable
choice maybe – but still,
always as inspired
as the first time
it ever aroused
my taste buds. Mmmm…
lunch on the seafront…
exquisitely fine!

Art is our home. This door is open, always, to all, and yet permits not the entry of draft or rain. The doused may find solace, and repose, in the warmth of this hearth. For the sparks of these words - the spectres conjured by its incandescence - are a family whose love is unconditional, and will ever blaze, kindling within us the faith to weather these tempests. The ashes may then be scattered upon the winds - to ignite the lost, and unify our souls as one, in unquenched illumination; to be the light which guides us home, through the darkest of eclipse.
