Getting my house in order

As I sit here and let my eyelids fall
In a vain attempt to ignore it all
My ears still hear the symphony of pans…
Of sizzling and pinging and energetic clangs.
Life goes on in the kitchen just beyond
And if I could just wave a magic wand,
I would clear the clutter and endless mess,
Have a perfect home filled with happiness.

But wands and wishes are naught but a dream
Which flicker then fade – never what they seem…
Nothing was ever gained from a delay
“Procrastination ceases from this day!”

In Security

Little put downs and point-scoring

Come as second nature to you,

I recognise it for what it is.

A deep need to gain approval

By trampling on other’s feelings  –

Making them feel small and insignificant

And yourself feel better.

I hope it helped

but I’m not sure

that it did underneath.

I see you for what you are.

A lighthearted look at life on any given day

Art is our home. This door is open, always, to all, and yet permits not the entry of draft or rain. The doused may find solace, and repose, in the warmth of this hearth. For the sparks of these words - the spectres conjured by its incandescence - are a family whose love is unconditional, and will ever blaze, kindling within us the faith to weather these tempests. The ashes may then be scattered upon the winds - to ignite the lost, and unify our souls as one, in unquenched illumination; to be the light which guides us home, through the darkest of eclipse.
