Little furry buzzy bee
I saw you immobilized
There by the French doors and I
Thought I may be able to
Revive you with a little
Sugar water – I do hope
I didn’t drown you instead…

Buzzy Bee

7 Words for Sunday – In a Lather

Soapy fingers slide slowly down my spine

7 Word Sunday – Thief

Sand whipped,
Land ripped…
Watery Wind Thief

The excessive rain has washed away all the earth beneath the road.

The excessive rain has washed away all the earth beneath the road.

Sand washed away from beneath the jetty leaving it exposed to the power of the sea.

Sand washed away from beneath the jetty leaving it exposed to the power of the sea.

Minimal Word Monday

Wet…apple 2

What more could you possibly wish for?

The water seems to hold its breath as we pass

and reflections clear as a looking glass

are echoed below the cornflower sky.

Once the ferry leaves, the sea exhales gently

and small ripples of contentment follow

in our wake

as do a small flotilla

of seafarers.

I reach home and am greeted at the door

with candles and a song – I smile and then

as they are extinguished

I wish for…

I leave behind the humid warmth of the shower cubicle and step into the chill of the bathroom with its built-in dawn chorus radio. Grabbing a towel from the warm radiator beside me, I cocoon myself in its delicious, freshly-laundered softness. Hugging the comforting layers to my damp body, I stop there for a few moments – absorbing everything.

A Small Song from the Sea

A Small Song from the Sea

Did the mighty seas today
make Neptune miss his footing
and spill his cappuccino
on the shore?

A lighthearted look at life on any given day

Art is our home. This door is open, always, to all, and yet permits not the entry of draft or rain. The doused may find solace, and repose, in the warmth of this hearth. For the sparks of these words - the spectres conjured by its incandescence - are a family whose love is unconditional, and will ever blaze, kindling within us the faith to weather these tempests. The ashes may then be scattered upon the winds - to ignite the lost, and unify our souls as one, in unquenched illumination; to be the light which guides us home, through the darkest of eclipse.
