Let let the drums
Let let the drums
Let let the drums
Take flight…lifting higher higher

Feel feel the beat
Feel feel the beat
Feel feel the beat
Pulse on…getting faster faster

Lift cares away
Lift cares away
Lift cares away
Just watch…drifting further further…

Ten Most Tenacious Plants no. 10 Ivy

Upside Down
Like Rapunzel, Ivy’s tangled tresses
Cascade down the towering fencepost
Before weaving their tangled way along
The ground. They cling with desperate fingers
To the bare earth – once won not easily

Over the h-edge

Well, we have started the hedge – planted the bushes and a few of the cuttings that I pilfered on my walk in the countryside. Hopefully now we wait and watch to see if they will take root. Never been so into the garden before, I even have a pot of homemade compost and a jam jar of bone meal ready for some more endeavours. A few avian visitors looking for newly exposed worms (there were quite a few) were subjected to merry greetings from myself… I must be going plant potty!

In the thick of it

Like an Isle of Wight version of the sword in the stone, my garden contains a chisel in the tree trunk. However much we try to release it, it won’t budge. Maybe we need a person of royal potential to come and release it for us…

The Search

He’s no longer here
in the present
just an echo
of the past –
left behind in
little clues
for me to find.
A name in a paper,
a face in a photo,
a name whispered
in sadness…
One by one
they reveal themselves
as I sift through
all the grit
to find the
nuggets of gold

Gone but not Forgotten

That’s the last substantial tree gone then. My newish neighbour hates trees. Thinks they are going to fall on her so told me of her plan to uproot everything along our boundary. Previously a nice secluded, if a little wild, place to relax and enjoy some privacy in our garden – now completely open to be overlooked from her back lawn (can’t call it a garden) and the street beyond.
I wonder where the little inquisitive robin will nest this year…

The mark of the Dragon

Fiery dragon’s-claw
Scars the Welsh skyline.
Feels like coming home
Now we are in the

A lighthearted look at life on any given day

Art is our home. This door is open, always, to all, and yet permits not the entry of draft or rain. The doused may find solace, and repose, in the warmth of this hearth. For the sparks of these words - the spectres conjured by its incandescence - are a family whose love is unconditional, and will ever blaze, kindling within us the faith to weather these tempests. The ashes may then be scattered upon the winds - to ignite the lost, and unify our souls as one, in unquenched illumination; to be the light which guides us home, through the darkest of eclipse.
